Welcome to The Roost! To make your stay as smooth as possible, here's a quick guide to the local parking options and fees, all just a short walk away.

🚗 Quick stops and daytime errands

High Street on-street parking

Ideal for popping into the local shops or dropping off your luggage.

• Cost: Free
• Restrictions: Time-limited spaces. Check the street signs for the exact maximum stay (usually 1 hour).
• Availability: Spaces turn over quickly during the day.

🕒 Short daytime outings (up to a few hours)

St Andrew's Estate Car Park (St Andrew's Road)

A council-run pay-and-display car park with 46 spaces. It's often the cheapest option for a stay of a few hours during the day.

• Charging hours: Monday to Saturday, 8:00am to 6:00pm
• Cost: Standard local short-stay tariffs, with lower starting hourly rates than the main long-stay car park
• Please note: There are no designated disabled parking bays in this car park.

🗺️ Long stays, Sundays and overnight parking

Station Road Car Park (on Forge Way)

The main long-stay council car park, with 112 spaces. It's the most flexible option and accepts cash, card or the RingGo app (location code 2997).

Monday to Saturday daytime (8:00am to 6:00pm)

Sundays and bank holidays (8:00am to 6:00pm)

• Flat rate (up to 10 hours): £2.20

Overnight, every day (6:00pm to 8:00am)

• First 30 minutes: Free, but you must still display a free ticket from the machine
• Flat overnight rate (up to 14 hours): £2.20

Top tip for overnight guests

If you're arriving in the evening and staying the night, Station Road Car Park is the best value. Park after 6pm for the £2.20 overnight rate, then move or pay for a daytime ticket by 8am.
