Sidmouth Folk Festival 2027

For one week every summer, the elegant Regency seaside town of Sidmouth is taken over by music. Sidmouth Folk Festival is one of the oldest and best-known folk gatherings in Britain, and its programme is enormous: more than 800 events packed into eight days, from big-name concerts to informal sessions tucked into pub corners.

What makes Sidmouth special is how completely the festival fills the town. Morris sides dance along the Esplanade, ceilidhs run late into the evening, there are workshops for anyone who wants to learn a tune or a step, and impromptu music breaks out in cafés and beer gardens. You can buy tickets for the headline concerts, or simply turn up and soak up the free entertainment on the seafront.

Tickets for 2027 go on general sale in December 2026, and festival-goers can register early for a special rate. Sidmouth is around thirty-five minutes from The Roost through East Devon's lanes, so it is easy to pop down for a single day of music and sea air, or to come and go across the week while staying somewhere a little quieter.
